11 officials under investigation for rule violations

ELEVEN local officials are under disciplinary or judicial investigation for seriously violating laws or discipline, according to announcements from the official website of the Shanghai commission of the Party’s discipline inspection yesterday.
Four officials are under investigation for discipline violations, and six have been handed to the judicial department. The other official is being investigated by prosecutors over alleged graft.
The announcements come after a team from the Party’s Central Commission for Discipline Inspection and Supervision launched a two-month discipline inspection in Shanghai, running until September 30. The team is hearing public complaints regarding officials.
Wu Xiangqian, president of Shanghai Academy of Health Sciences, was transferred to prosecutors for further investigations into alleged graft.
Four others being probed are from the former Nanhui District government.
Another four are from the Health School attached to Shanghai Jiao Tong University’s School of Medicine.
