10 bus services to take different routes

TEN bus services are being rerouted and nine stops on three routes will be closed temporarily because of the Middle Ring Road damage, the city’s transport authorities said yesterday.
The services affected are the 58, 68, 85, 159, 332, 551, 702, 767, 840 and 963. The stops to close are on the 159, 551 and 702 routes.
Information about the changes and closures will be posted along affected routes and on electronic screens at bus stops.
Officials said Shanghai Ba-shi Public Transportation Co is sending staff to six main intersections near Hutai Road to guide traffic and answer questions from the public.
Meanwhile, Metro Line 7, which will be the line most affected by the incident, introduced traffic control measures at the Dahuasan Road and Xincun Road stations during morning rush hour yesterday and will add extra trains when necessary to handle the increase in passenger numbers.
Dachang Town Station saw passenger numbers up by 32 percent by noon compared to the same period last Monday, while there was a 26 percent increase at Changzhong Road.
