Wet weather forecast to dry up for two days but will return on weekend
The wet weather over the past few days is expected stop tomorrow and Friday but return this weekend, weathermen said.
The Shanghai Meteorological Bureau issued a blue rainstorm alert at 5:45am today and upgraded it to yellow three hours later. It said some areas of the city would get at least 50 millimeters of rain within six hours. A yellow lightning alert was issued at 10:16am.
According to the bureau, most districts in the city had received in excess of 20 millimeters of rain by 11am. Jinshan District topped the list with nearly 50 millimeters. The benchmark Xujiahui weather station recorded 31 millimeters of rain.
The temperature is expected to range between 21 and 24 degrees Celsius today. The high will climb to 29 degrees when the sky clears up tomorrow, the bureau said.
