Wet weather forecast for the week

RAIN and cooler temperatures are set to return to the city this week, weather forecasters said yesterday.

It will be generally cloudy with scattered rain today with the high dipping to 28 degrees Celsius. Skies are expected to be a bit clearer early tomorrow but showers are still on the cards.

There won’t be much change in the temperature however.

Friday’s temperature will be even lower — between 21 and 24 degrees — with humid weather and gray skies. The mercury is forecast to bounce back on Saturday and climb to 26 degrees.

Because of the damage Typhoon Haiyan caused in November last year, the World Meteorological Organization has asked China to rename it. Local residents can participate in “Giving A Name To Typhoon” by clicking a pop-up on the Shanghai Meteorological Bureau’s official website www.soweather.com and give it a new name. The first-prize winner will get an iPhone 6.
