Warm weather for Laureus

ORGANIZERS of the 2015 Laureus World Sports Awards in Shanghai can heave a sigh of relief after forecasters said it would be warmer today with temperatures in the twenties.

After a week of fluctuating weather patterns, the mercury will rise by 8 degrees Celsius to a high of 22 today. The high will dip to 19 due to a weak cold front tomorrow. A high pressure will begin taking control of the city today, forecasters said, with the skies mostly cloudy for the rest of the week. Few scattered drizzles are expected tomorrow with some showers predicted for late Saturday and Sunday. But the wet weather, brought by low pressure, will not affect the mild temperatures.

Temperatures will bounce back to 23 degrees on Saturday but drop slightly to 21 on Sunday.

The Shanghai Meteorological Bureau is advising residents to keep the warm jackets handy. “The weather always fluctuates in spring,” said Zhu Jiehua of the bureau. “We do have some very low temperatures in April.”
