Time-honored brand expo opens tomorrow

EVENTS for the younger generation and foreigners will be held at the China Time-Honored Brand & Famous Brand Expo, which starts tomorrow in the Pudong New Area.

According to the organizer, children are welcome and for the first time in the fair’s history there will be a magic show, DIY toys and a crawling game for the young ones.

Meanwhile, the organizer plans to launch a photo contest, inviting foreigners to take pictures of Chinese time-honored brands. The contest, carried out by School of Design at East China Normal University and RMIT University in Melbourne, Australia, is themed "Old and New – A Taste of Shanghai."

A qipao fashion show, tea art performance and other activities will also take place during the expo.

"We hope to explore deeper into the cultural value of our brands," said Shao Yuling, secretary-general of the Shanghai China Time-Honored Brands Association.

"With the help of the fair and these events, we expect that more people, especially the younger generation and foreigners who have little knowledge about these brands, will become gradually more fond of them.”

The fair is held at Shanghai World Expo Exhibition and Convention Center. It ends on Monday.
