Sunny but cooler climate for weekend

EXPECT sunnier skies this weekend even as few scattered drizzles were felt across the city yesterday, the Shanghai Meteorological Bureau said.
Thursday was also declared Hanlu, or cold dews, indicating that the weather was getting cooler.
“Dew are cold and set to condense” goes an old Chinese saying, suggesting that colder temperature will condense the dew into frost.
Along with increasing winds, the rains pushed the highs down to 21.5 degrees Celsius and low to 18 degrees yesterday.
“Autumn winds bring coolness. The rains and winds in the autumn worry us,” an elderly pedestrian said.
“Today we feel it’s not a crisp autumn day but one disturbed by rain,” added his wife.
“I feel that autumn is coming with cold winds. The leaves are falling and I just passed an area where some ginkgo nuts were lying all over on the ground,” another woman told Shanghai Daily yesterday.
It will be warmer today with the high bouncing back to 23 degrees. The mild condition will last through Saturday.
But a drop in temperatures is expected on Sunday due to a cold front when the highs are expected to drop back to 21 and the lows to 14 degrees, triggering strong winds and smog.
