Shuttle bus halves times at Hongqiao

A new shuttle bus service began operating yesterday between Hongqiao Transportation Hub and Xinzhuang Metro station.
The bus journey between the two places takes 30 minutes, almost halving current public transport times, a Xinmin Evening News report said.
Until yesterday, residents in Xinzhuang area usually had to spend nearly an hour on the subway to get to the transportation hub, via two Metro lines.
The Hongqiao hub offers airport, railway and long-distance bus connections; while Xinzhuang Metro station, shared by Metro Line 1 and 5, is also a key hub in Minhang District.
The first shuttle bus leaves Xinzhuang at 7am and the last one at 5:30pm.
In the other direction, the first bus leaves Hongqiao Transportation Hub at 7:20am and the last one leaves at 5:45pm. Tickets cost 8 yuan (US$1.2) per trip.
