Shorter subway gaps

THE waiting time for trains at downtown stations on Metro Line 8 will from tomorrow be cut during weekday rush hours, Shanghai Metro said yesterday.
On the section of line between Middle Yanji Road Station to Oriental Sports Center Station, the gap will be reduced by eight seconds to two minutes and 22 seconds during the morning rush hour, and by 20 seconds to three minutes in the equivalent evening period, it said. On the section between Shiguang Road to Middle Yanji Road the waiting time during the evening rush will be reduced by 40 seconds to six minutes, while the gap at stations from Oriental Sports Center to Shendu Highway will be slashed by three minutes and 40 seconds to just three minutes.
