Shanghai to select best practice cases on innovation and sustainability

THE “Heading Towards 2040: Corporate Innovation and Urban Sustainability” Excellence Awards campaign is officially launched today.

The event aims to encourage domestic and foreign companies to actively pursue sustainability initiatives, promote China’s sustainability targets, and showcase Shanghai’s achievements in innovation, business environment, and sustainable development. The event will demonstrate Shanghai’s progress towards becoming a global city of excellence with the issuance of Shanghai Corporate Sustainable Development Report (2017).

The three-month campaign will collect cases from foreign-invested companies, private companies, and state-owned enterprises. Winners will receive the 2017 Sustainability Best Practice Awards, 2017 Sustainability Influencer Awards, and 2017 Sustainability Communications Awards.

Companies are welcome to participate in the event and email relevant materials to CSR2040@126.com. Winners will be decided by the jury panel and public votes, and the final results will be announced at a summit in September.

The campaign is jointly sponsored by the Information Office of Shanghai Municipality, Shanghai Municipal Commission of Commerce, and Shanghai Environmental Protection Bureau. Organizers of the event are Shanghai Daily, Shanghai Observer of Jiefang Daily, and Eastday.com.
