Shanghai body spells out 5-year plan to promote science among residents
MORE venues to popularize science will be established in Shanghai in the following years, according to the five-year plan released by the Shanghai Science and Technology Committee.
The plan includes four quantitative targets and one of them is to improve the number of venues – one for every 450,000 residents from the current one for every 420,000 citizens -- to promote science with special themes.
The others targets are to cultivate three events that have a global influence, including the Shanghai Science Week, to produce at least five films or TV programs with strong social impact and to improve citizens’ scientific literacy by three percentage points.
