Section of Waima Road to be closed to traffic
A section of Waima Road between Fuxing Road E. and Maojiayuan Road will be partly closed to traffic between 7:30am and 10:30pm everyday due to construction work for a pathway being built along the south Bund area.
Vehicles will only be allowed from the north-to-south direction until the work is done.
The road along the Huangpu River will be expanded while the flood prevention wall will be renovated for use as a pedestrian path. All overhead electric wires and pipelines are being moved underground. Three yacht harbors along the river bank will also be moved.
The 2.2-kilometer-long pedestrian walkway along the Waima Road will open to public in June. The plan also includes an 8-shape skywalk in the area.
