Roads closed for half marathon
SOME streets in Pudong will be closed to traffic this weekend due to the 2017 Shanghai International Half Marathon on Sunday.
Shanghai police announced that roads near the race’s start — the Oriental Pearl Tower — and finish — the Oriental Sports Center — would be particularly affected.
Yongyao Road between Yaolong Road and Dongyu Road will be shut for 14 hours from 10pm on Saturday to noon on Sunday, joined by Dongyu Road between Yangsi Road W. and Yongyao Road 7am-12pm on Sunday.
All traffic is banned from Fenghe Road between the ring road where the Pearl tower is located and Binjiang Avenue as well as Mingzhuta Road between Fenghe Road and Binjiang Avenue from 5am to 7am on Sunday.
Along the route of the race, vehicles will be banned from streets with no separating fences from 6am to 10:30am. Meanwhile, five ferry lines — Dongjin, Dongfu, Yangfu, Tangdong and Nanlu — won’t be running from 6:45am to 8:15am on Sunday.
