Rainy weather until end of May
IT will be overcast and rainy for the rest of the month, according to forecasters.
Tomorrow and Thursday will see the mercury rise to 26 or 27 degrees Celsius, but that will drop to 22 degrees as the rain gets heavier over the weekend.
According to the Shanghai Meteorological Bureau, the city has been wetter and warmer than usual this spring.
Since March, Shanghai has had 290 millimeters of precipitation, 35 millimeters more than the usual 255. The average temperature has been 15.8 degrees Celsius, 1.5 degrees higher than the usual 14.3 degrees.
Meanwhile, Shen Yu, a climate expert with the bureau, said the number of high temperature days — days with a high of 35 degrees or above — this year is forecast to be between 14 and 21 — 2015 had just 12 — and 4 to 7 of them may see the mercury hit 37 degrees.
