Now, there is an app for parking

ALL paid public parking lots in Shanghai will enable digital payment by the end of this year, the Shanghai Road Administration Bureau said yesterday.

The payment system will be integrated with the government’s parking app for users.

All 2,500 public lots around the city as well as parking space on the streets will allow payment through bank cards and some will accept payment via transportation cards, Alipay, WeChat and Electronic Toll Collection.

Under the system, all data, including the number of remaining slots, the fee and trends in parking space use will be available on the Shanghai Transportation Commission’s app, “Shanghai Tingche” (Shanghai Parking). Information on about 560 parking lots can already be found on the app.
