Nod for new tunnel

THE city government has given its approval for a new Jiangpu Road tunnel project that links Puxi and Pudong. The 2.28km four-lane tunnel connecting Yangpu District to Pudong will be built between Dalian Road tunnel and Yangpu Bridge and will have a speed limit of 40kmh. The government however did not say when the construction of the new tunnel will start. Currently, Shanghai has a total of 13 underwater tunnels.
