Mercury set to rise this week

IT will be a warm start to the week with highs in the mid teens, forecasters said yesterday.

But the respite from the rains and wet conditions is likely to be brief as a cold front is forecast for Wednesday, pushing the mercury down again followed by light showers.

The morning today will be foggy but the skies will generally be clearer later in the day.

The Shanghai Meteorological Bureau issued a yellow alert for heavy fog that may cut visibility to less than 500 meters in the morning today. The mercury will rise to 15 degrees Celsius.

Look out for similar conditions tomorrow with a high of 16 degrees and a low of 9. But due to the influence of a cold front, there will be some drizzles late in the evening.

The temperature will fall to 13 degrees on Wednesday.

On Thursday and Friday, the skies will be cloudy with cooler temperatures ranging between 5 to 11 degrees.
