Electric cars for rent

AN electric-car rental scheme was launched on a trail basis yesterday in Lingang New City in the Pudong New Area, local authorities said. Under the scheme, people can rent a Roewe E50 for 30 yuan (US$4.80) an hour. A total of 30 cars are available, but that number is set to grow to 50 later this year, officials said. A smartphone app to promote the program will be released in June.
