Colder today, cloudy all week

THE arrival of a cold front is set to bring overcast weather with drizzle and stronger winds today, forecasters said yesterday.

The high temperature will be down to 14 degrees Celsius today, following yesterday’s warm spring sunshine when the high reached 21 degrees, said the Shanghai Meteorological Bureau.

Today’s low will be around 8 degrees, according to the bureau. Air quality is forecast to be good to lightly polluted in the morning, with PM2.5 particles being the major pollutant, according to the Shanghai Environmental Monitoring Center. And quality should be good in the afternoon, with PM10 particles set to be the main pollutant.

Temperatures are set to rise slightly tomorrow, with the high around 16 degrees.

On Wednesday, the temperature will rise to a high of 22 degrees, with the low standing at around 11 degrees. It is set to be cloudy for most of the week, said forecasters.

The highest temperature will climb to 24 degrees on Thursday, but will be accompanied by rain, according to the bureau.

The lowest temperature will be around 15 degrees. On Friday, it should again be overcast, with the high temperature dropping 2 degrees. The low will be 14 degrees.

The bureau reminded city residents that while the weather has been warmer recently, evenings and early morning can still be chilly.
