City will set to be wet, wet, wet all week

PEOPLE are advised to take their umbrellas with them as rain is forecast every day in Shanghai this week.

Skies will be overcast until Saturday, with scattered showers or thunderstorms in the afternoons, according to Shanghai Meteorological Bureau.

Today, the temperature will range from 27 to 34 degrees Celsius. It will drop slightly to 32 degrees tomorrow, and remain hovering around 32 degrees for the rest of the week, forecasters said.

Light air pollution is likely tomorrow and Thursday, according to Shanghai Environmental Monitoring Center.

The 40-day sanfu, the hottest days of summer in the Chinese lunar calendar, which started on July 12, is near to its end, and there is little possibility of residents being blistered by a scorching sun and 37-degree or higher temperatures, forecasters said.
