Shanghai's organ transplant quality rated best in China

THE city has received its 200th organ donation since the first donation was made in August 2013, local health authorities said.

On an average, there are five donors in every million local residents, which is 2.5 times the national average.

The city’s organ transplant quality also rated as the best in the nation, with a liver and kidney usage rate of 92.39 percent.

More than 5,000 local residents have signed the voluntary organ donation consent form.

Shanghai is one of the 11 national organ donation pilot cities.
