City launches six new one-day summer travel routes

Six new one-day summer travel routes were launched by the Shanghai Tourism Administration in Huangpu District yesterday, and they include water parks, wetlands, museums and beach spots.

These routes represent the most classic and coolest summer flavor of the city, the administration said.

They string water attractions like Shanghai Fisherman's Wharf, Bihaijinsha Beach and Maya Water Park, health-related tour at the Shanghai Museum of Traditional Chinese Medicine, and ecological travel of Xisha Wetland and Dongping National Forest Park.

A number of activities will be staged across the city this summer, the administration said.

The second phase of the Maya Water Park featuring new facilities introduced from Canada and the United States will open on July 2, while a sports carnival featuring music, foods and beer will be hosted at the Shiliupu Wharf in the Bund this summer.

The Chenshan Botanic Garden and Shanghai Zoo will host night tours in summer time, while a lotus display will be held at the Guyi Park in July.

The Malu grape festival will take place in Jiading District in summer.
