Fast-track through customs

FOREIGNERS who have a Chinese permanent residence card and their passport can pass through customs formalities unattended from this week, using a machine which can identify fingerprints, local exit-entry authorities said yesterday.
Other people who can pass through customs without manual procedures in this way include Chinese citizens holding a new passport with digitalized fingerprint information, Taiwanese with a pass which allows them to enter China’s mainland several times for more than one year and airline crews.
