Time Alley cultural them park opens on Shiliupu Wharf on the Bund
SHANGHAI Time Alley, a cultural theme park at the Shiliupu Wharf in the Bund, opens to the public today and will take visitors on a journey through time to experience old Shanghai in the 1930s.
It is like traveling in a time machine into the past when walking along old Shanghai streets lined with department stores and food stores of a bygone era, all replica buildings.
Visitors will see Shanghai-style architecture like shikumen buildings, or stone-gate house, and longtang (back alley lanes), and meet cobblers, tailors and rickshaw men.
The park is a highlight program in the renovation of the Shiliupu waterfront project, which is along the Huangpu River and covers about 20,000 square meters.
The aim is to make the old Shiliupu Wharf into a new tourism landmark in Shanghai, the Huangpu Tourism Administration said today.
