'Southpaw' to hit Chinese cinemas on September 2

JAKE Gyllenhaal, known for his acting in Ang Lee's "Brokeback Mountain" will stun his Chinese fans with a new character on screen - a professional boxer and loving father.

The American sports drama film "Southpaw" will hit cinemas across China on September 2. The film held a premiere in town at Wanda International Cinema of Wujiaochang.

The drama film tells a touching story about boxer Billy Hope who has a glorious past. However, after losing his wife in a tragic accident and his daughter to child protection, the boxer turns to trainer Tick Wills to help him get his life back on track services.

It is also an inspiring depiction of the growth of the character from a man to a father.

A lot of movies are squeezed into the summer slot.

"Jason Bourne," a new sequel to the action-packed American spy thriller series "Bourne" is screening. The film features impressive car chasing and fight scenes.

Japanese sci-fi thriller film "Parasyte" will also be released on September 2.

Based on a popular Japanese anime series, the film is a story about the dreadful invasion of spores to human bodies. A high school student has to fight against the spores' attack and control to protect his family.
