Automata exhibition from Britain to be on show in city

AN exhibition from Britain on mechanical moving toys, or automata, is to be presented in Shanghai Science & Technology Museum for three months from Saturday this week.

Young visitors will be able to learn about mechanics from the moving toys combining technology and may also enjoy building automata by themselves.

Reservation for visit is required for the exhibition. Visitors can reserve for a session with their museum tickets and their identification cards on the first floor. Each session lasts for about 90 minutes, limited to 80 visitors only. There will be eight sessions a day.

The museum also provides workshops for visitors to make build automata themselves. There will be four workshops every day, each allowing 20 visitors. The workshop reservation can be made via the museum's WeChat account service.

The exhibition opens from Saturday to March 24 next year. The museum closes on the Chinese New Year's Eve and also on every Monday.
