Graduate jobless figure low
LEADING city universities reported yesterday that almost all last year’s graduates have found jobs, started further study or gone overseas.
And Shanghai itself remains the top location for graduates from city universities to work or continue studying, with 76 percent staying on, figures found.
Donghua University said 98 percent of its 5,370 graduates were in jobs, further education or overseas.
Shanghai University of Finance and Economics reported a similar figure among 3,529 graduates, while at Shanghai Jiao Tong University it was 97 percent among 8644 graduates.
Tongji University reported 98 percent among 9149 graduates, while at Fudan University it was almost 97 percent of 7,509 graduates.
These compare to figures last month of 96 percent among the 168,623 graduates from all Shanghai colleges.
