Exam takers get on Metro first
SHANGHAI’S Metro stations will give students priority access when they sit the national university entrance exam on June 7 and 8.
The move is intended to ensure that students get to their exams on time.
According to Metro operator Shanghai Shentong Metro Group, the stations, especially ones that impose crowd-limitation measures during rush hours, will wave through students holding admission cards for the exams.
Volunteers will also be deployed at stations near the exam schools to give directions.
The elevated stations near some exam schools will also lower the volume of their station broadcasts to avoid disturbing students.
Meanwhile, Shentong said it has extra trains ready to handle the high volume of passengers expected on some routes during the Dragon Boat Festival holiday from June 9 to 11.
The operator will also monitor passenger numbers at Line 11’s Disney Station during the holiday and put on extra trains if necessary.
