Thousands to take judicial exam this weekend
Nearly 20,000 people in Shanghai will take the National Judicial Examination this weekend, a requirement to become a lawyer, prosecutor or judge.
The number of people taking the exam is up 1.3 percent from last year.
The four parts of the examination will be held tomorrow and Sunday in 640 classrooms in 23 local schools, the Shanghai Justice Bureau said.
More than 80 officials and teachers will be deployed to supervise the examination while over 100 police officers, firefighters, as well as staff from the radio administration and electricity utility will work together to ensure the examination goes smoothly, safely and fairly, the justice bureau said.
In order to prevent cheating, examinees will have to pass through metal detectors and have their ID cards read be a machine. They will not be allowed to take cellphones and other communication devices into the classrooms.
