Shanghai Disney Resort warns about fake ticket-winning campaigns

SHANGHAI Disney Resort has only released a sole official tickets-winning campaign and all the other ticket-related activities on the Internet are fake, the management of the resort has announced.

The resort has launched an Imagine Your Trip online activity to invite Chinese netizens to plan their Disney trip and win the tickets to the Shanghai Disneyland, the first on the mainland that will open its gate on June 16.

However, there appeared many similar online campaigns that claimed participants have the opportunities to win free entrance to the Shanghai Disneyland. These faked campaigns have been widely promoted by Wechat users.

“Currently, there is no other channel on the market to purchase, win or pick up for free tickets to the Shanghai Disneyland,” the resort said in a statement.

Tickets for Shanghai Disneyland will go on sale on March 28 from 370 yuan (US$57), rising to 499 yuan at weekends and during holidays. “Before that, there will be no ticket being available on the market,” the statement said.

The resort suggested local consumers to follow the official online platforms of the resort that include the official website, www.shanghaidisneyresort.com, and the Wechat account ShangHaiDisneyResort.

Tickets will be available at the website or by calling free on 400-180-0000. A list of official travel partners can also be found on the website.

The US$5.5 billion resort features an Enchanted Storybook Castle — the tallest in any Disney park — and attractions not seen at any other Disney park, the company said.
