Schools invited by city tourism authority for upcoming cultural activities next year

The Shanghai Tourism Administration will organize a series of tourism-related activities including tourism culture lectures, performances, painting and shutterbug contests at local schools throughout next year, officials said today.

Schools for the blind and deaf-mutes and some dancing schools will be included in the plan, the administration said.

The Shanghai Jing'an Area No.1 Primary School was the first school to have such an event late last week with students dressed in clothing of different ethnic groups in China and displayed their customs and tradition with singing and dancing. There was also photo display.

Similar events have been hosted this year at about 40 residential complexes across the city where photographers, tourism experts, and folk culture scholars shared knowledge on tourism culture and residents were invited to participate in tourism shutterbug and painting contests.
