Police announce fraud suspect held at airport

A FRAUD suspect who fled to Canada has been held after landing in Shanghai under a different name, the city’s entry-exit frontier inspection police announced yesterday.

Suspect Lien Tai-Shen, arrived at Pudong International Airport on April 26, police said.

Lien was detained as part of the nationwide “Fox Hunt 2015” operation, an international manhunt for suspects of economic crimes and corruption.

Lien is alleged to have been involved in a fraud worth of US$664,000 against his business partner in 2006.

Earlier, Shanghai police had discovered that Lien had obtained a Canadian passport under the name Liang Yun-Fei and had several times flown in from overseas.
