More major tourist venues close again
More local tourist attractions which reopened in March are to close again or partially close to prevent the spread of the novel coronavirus.
Full refunds will be available for those who have already purchased tickets.
The Bund sightseeing tunnel, which reopened on March 13, closed from 5pm yesterday, its operator announced.
Reopening times have yet to be announced.
The operator of Shanghai Haiwan National Forest Park in the Pudong New Area which reopened on March 10 said indoor venues such as the Shanghai Farm Culture Museum, a ceramic art exhibition hall and a chinaware exhibition hall closed yesterday and it’s not known when they will reopen.
The operator of Guangfulin Cultural Relics Park in Songjiang District said yesterday its indoor venues would also remain closed.
Opening times will be based on the development of the coronavirus. But the park’s outdoor areas will remain open with the number of visitors kept below 5,000 a day, half its capacity.
The Shanghai Haichang Ocean Park in Pudong also closed yesterday.
Most of the park’s display areas are indoors.
Some A-level indoor tourist attractions in the city which had reopened were ordered on Sunday to close again until further notice.
These included the Oriental Pearl TV Tower, the Shanghai Tower and Changfeng Ocean World.
