Man arrested for breaking the windshield of a police car

A MAN in suburban Shanghai was arrested after damaging the windshield of a police car after he was told to pay a parking fine.

The incident happened on Monday afternoon in Jinshan District when a traffic police officer was issuing ticket to a car parked in a parking lot but blocking the passage.

Three men rushed out of a store towards the officer and tried to stop him from handing out the ticket. One of them, surnamed Xi, damaged the windshield of the officer’s car.

At the police station, Xi said that he was under the influence of alcohol at that time and regretted what he did.

Police said the other two were allowed to go as their offenses towards the police officer were of a lighter nature. Xi could face detention for obstructing a law enforcement officer.
