'Go away Mr. Tumor' to tell story of late cartoonist on big screen

"GO Away Mr. Tumor," a highly anticipated film based on the real life experience of the late cartoonist Xiong Dun, will hit cinemas across China on Thursday.
Bai Baihe, the leading actress in the movie attended the film's Shanghai premiere held by the ticketing website Gewara.com last weekend and interacted with her fans.
In the movie Bai depicts a sick woman's fight against tumor with her optimism and smile. With heartwarming scenes and lines, the movie tries to explore new meanings and values of life.
In terms of a large fan base for Xiong Dun's cartoon works, the film is expected to be another box office sensation this summer following Bai's 3D fantasy film "Monster Hunt." "Monster Hunt" has already set a new Chinese box office record with more than 2 billion yuan.
Today the Shanghai dialect version of the animated film "Mr. Black: Green Star" also held its premiere at the Shanghai Film Art Center.
The film about Black Cat Detective's efforts to stop the scheme of an evil ape presents both Mandarin and Shanghai dialect versions to local kids.
According to the film's producer, the Shanghai dialect version is a new attempt for domestic animated movies. It is also ready to evoke nostalgia among the post 70s and 80s generations of people for the film's original animated TV series 30 years ago.
Currently the summertime film slot also features "To the Fore," the latest offering of Hong Kong director Dante Lam following the success of the acclaimed boxing drama film "Unbeatable."
The action-packed cycling film starring Taiwan actor Eddie Peng and South Korean actor Choi Si-won revolves around a young man who dreams of becoming a professional cyclist. However, he faces a lot of unexpected challenges on his way to winning in an international bike racing.
