Fudan University launches Big Data Institute

Fudan University established its School of Data Science and Institute for Big Data on Thursday with 250 million yuan of donation from Zhongzhi Enterprise Group, which would be delivered during the following five years.
Fudan expects to build up an educational and industrial center with global influence for big data with the school and institute.
The School of Data will recruit its first 50 students from sophomores.
After a two-year study, they can also apply for master’s programs and MD-PhD programs.
The Institute for Big Data will provide data collection, storage and analysis services for the public.
