First domestic documentary about Himalaya climbing to be screened

"HIMALAYA: Ladder to Paradise," the first domestic documentary film about Himalaya climbing will start its national screening on Friday. The film hosted its premiere today at Shanghai Wujiaochang Wanda IMAX Cinema.
Shot with 4k camera to attain higher resolution, the film is about the adventurous Himalaya climbing experience and lives of a group of young guides in Tibet. With their help, some people managed to climb up Himalaya, which is called a ladder to paradise there. A lot of touching moments in the process of climbing are recorded.
Producers say that it took them around 4 years to shoot the film. It is also the first time for a Chinese film to be shot in the thin air above an altitude of 7,000 meters. Two of the guides are also trained as photographers.
The film is co-directed by veteran documentary film makers Xiao Han and Liang Junjian. Some notable international broadcasters have also revealed their intention to purchase.
