Driver license exam to introduce face recognition system

A face recognition system has been recently introduced in the driver license examination and some vocational examinations in Beijing. The new tech will enter Shanghai soon to prevent other people from taking the test, experts told an exhibition featuring intelligent city in Shanghai over the weekend.
The nation’s first face recognition system was also displayed in the exhibition. Industry insiders said that police has used the system for hunting criminals and financial system such as banks for identity confirmation.
“We started to introduce the Japan-developed system to more civil use since last year and has been used in some civil tests,” stated Ma Lei from NEC Solutions (China) Co Ltd. “We are talking with the education authority to introduce the system to important tests.”
