A diner is complaining online about an allegedly horrible dining experience at a local Wagas outlet on downtown Huangpi Road N, during which, he and his friends encountered a falling mouse on Sunday.

The diner, identifying himself with a Chinese nickname that translates into "Mr Li does not like eating mouse," posted photos and a short video as evidences to support his allegation.

In his account, he alleged the live mouse fell on his colleague’s neck from somewhere and "slipped through" the arm and fell onto the plates on the table when they were eating at the Wagas outlet in a shopping square at 227 on Huangpi Road N.

The diner alleged in a post published through his Weibo account that the store's manager and the area manager respectively showed up 2 and 3 hours after the incident to face them. The diner said they were furious because the management's attitude was very unhelpful.

The diner also alleged online he had tried making calls to city hotlines related to food safety and consumer rights protection on Sunday but did not get a timely response.

Reports about the alleged incident have gone viral online today, catching media attention. The city’s food safety watchdog has not responded to the complaint yet.
