Comic star detained on drug counts

A FAMOUS young stand-up comedian in China, popularly known as “Kamu,” has been arrested in Shanghai for illegal drug use and making a place available for drug use, the people’s procuratorate in Hongkou District said yesterday.
Police said in a statement the 25-year-old was caught on April 30 taking drugs, along with other people.
Kamu was the winner of the second season of the comedy show “Rock & Roast” last year.
His agents, the Xiao Guo Culture, publicly apologized and suspended him indefinitely.
