City investigates 11 officials over corruption allegations

Eleven local officials are under investigation or have been handed over to prosecutors for alleged disciplinary violations, the Shanghai Committee for Disciplinary Inspection and Supervision reported on its website today.

Zhang Wenjun, former director of the Nanhui District Housing and Land Bureau, Wu Zhongquan, former director of the Minhang District Construction and Communication Bureau, and Zhang Hong, director of the office department of the Health School attached to Shanghai Jiao Tong University’s School of Medicine, were among those being investigated.

The website did not provide details on the allegations against the officials.

Prosecutors have also begun investigating Wu Xiangqian, president of Shanghai Academy of Health Sciences, who has been accused of corruption.
