City courts to be scored by public based on transparency, fairness and efficiency

LOCAL courts will be scored based on a set of criteria like transparency, fairness and efficiency by the end of this year, according to Shanghai Higher People’s Court.

On Thursday, the court introduced the judicial credibility index, a big data-backed evaluation system featuring a total of 61 criteria.

The index will be released annually, which is intended to reflect the city’s whole judicial environment and also how local courts perform.
