Baby boy found near Luchao Port

A baby boy was found near Luchao Port at about 3pm on Monday and is being cared for in hospital, police in the Pudong New Area said yesterday.
The infant, approximately 8 months old, was wearing a white T-shirt and black trousers when found. He was also wrapped in a pink coat, police said. A backpack with baby clothing, milk powder and diapers was found beside the baby, police added.
Police said that they have yet to identify the boy or locate his parents.
A villager surnamed Zhou told police that he had seen a man who looked absentminded wandering around the area where the baby was found. Police said they are investigating this lead.
Officers added that residents who have any information about the baby could call 5828-1653 or 5828-4555.
