8 officials punished for breaking frugality rules

EIGHT officials in Shanghai were punished for violating the Party's frugality rules, the city's Party disciplinary watchdog said today.

Xu Leying, director of administrative office of the Hongkou Business Group Co Ltd, received a warning as the company organized employees to travel with public fund when they were having a training in Zhejiang Province between October 28 and 31 in 2015.

Ye Yong, Party Secretary of the Huayi Village in Qingpu District, was also warned for inviting his colleagues and some private company managers to attend his daughter's wedding and accepting their cash gifts in December 2015.

Zhu Weiqiang, project manager of construction consulting company SICC, was warned for giving his clients prepaid shopping cards after a business banquet on July 8 last year.

Liu Yueming, a researcher at the civil defense office of Minhang District, was found organizing a private gathering in October last year and asking a company with business connection with the office to pay part of the spending on dinner and accommodation. It led to a warning on him.

Bai Junying, director of the highway management office in Jiading District, received a severe warning and three of is colleagues were warned for attending a banquet paid by a gardening company in November last year.
