2.0-magnitude quake hits city, tremor felt in Pudong

A 2.0-magnitude earthquake jolted Shanghai at 1:44am today, with the epicenter located near Dishui Lake in the Pudong New Area, according to local authorities.

The epicenter, at a depth of 8 km, was measured at 30.9 degrees north latitude and 121.9 degrees east longitude, according to the city’s seismological bureau.

It was detected 55 kilometers away from the People’s Square.

Some netizens in the Lingang New City of Pudong said they felt strong jolts at 1:45am, hearing loud noise from glasses.
