Holiday tourists
Hangzhou received 3.35 million visitors during the weeklong Spring Festival holiday, up 6.25 percent from last year. Tourism revenue increased 8.97 percent year on year to 3.74 billion yuan, officials said last week.
An exhibition of Chinese New Year prints at Yuewang Temple, the Year of the Sheep art show at Hangzhou Museum, and the paper-cut exhibition in Wushan Square were the city’s most popular events during the holiday.
Lanterns hung up along the historical Grand Canal were another highlight during the holiday with 251,400 people coming to visit, 10 percent more than a year before. Xixi National Wetland Park received 109,800 visitors during the holiday.
