Foreign students
The number of international students in Zhejiang’s colleges and universities jumped 13.5 percent in 2014 to 23,817, according to the provincial education bureau.
Foreign students came from 171 countries and regions, seven more than in 2013. The majority are from South Korea, the United States, Indonesia, Thailand and Britain.
At the University of Nottingham Ningbo, foreign students make up 13 percent of the student body, the most among universities in the province. Zhejiang University ranks second with 426 foreign students or 12 percent of its total. Its Department of International Economy and Trade alone enrolled 82 foreign students.
Hangzhou’s China Academy of Art and Zhejiang Traditional Chinese Medicine University are also popular among international students.
