Cosplayers at work

The annual China International Cartoon and Animation Festival will welcome cartoon lovers from home and abroad from April 27 to May 2.

In the past 11 years, the gala, dubbed Hangzhou’s Comic Con, has received millions of visitors. It’s a mix of animation and cartoon exhibitions, filming, cosplay competitions, and business meetings.

International insiders from Festival de Cannes, Festival international de la bande dessinée d’Angoulême, and Ottawa International Animation Festival are coming to the city for the event.

Cosplayers from Hungary, Singapore, Spain and China are competing for the entry to the final held during the festival. More than 400 pieces of manga work have been collected from over 80 countries and regions and will be shown during the event.

The exhibition will showcase about 50 international cartoon images and brands, such as Transformers, The Avengers, One Piece, Avatar, Garfield, and Dragon Ball.
