Corruption cases

The Hangzhou Discipline Inspection Commission handled seven corruption cases in the past three weeks, involving eight government officials and leaders of state-owned enterprises. Six of them will face criminal charges.

The commission said they investigated 16 corruption cases involving officials at county level in the first quarter of this year, a rise of 89 percent over the same period of last year. The number of cases uncovered in the second quarter was not revealed.

The commission vowed to ramp up the anti-corruption campaign and punish those who don’t cooperate with its investigators. Bribers will also be punished as well.
