Tourism authorities from Maoming, Yangjiang and Zhanjiang cities in Guangdong Province have released a number of new tourism itineraries during a tourism event in Shanghai’s Pudong New Area to promote tourist attractions in the western part of Guangdong.

The routes provide a variety of scenic spots, including the Bohe Port, a fishing port with a 1,000-year history, the Marine Silk Museum, Fangji Island, a diving resort with crystal clear water, the Coast of Romance International Tourism Resort of Maoming, Hailing Island, Donghai Island, Yushui hot spring and Huguangyan World Geopark. The west part of Guangdong Province boasts a rich diversity of tourism resources and the region has a subtropical monsoon climate with an average temperature of above 22 degrees Celsius.

In addition to its natural landscape, the region is known for its fresh seafood and Maoming is the hometown of lychee and is a major fruit base in China.
